Subscribing to an RSS feed is simple now days. First of all an RSS Subscription is just like a newspaper subscription, or a news letter. It will notify you of any new changes on a website. For example this site has an RSS feed that you can subscribe to. This is how.
First you find the RSS button This is usually in the same place you type the URL of the websites:
Once you click the RSS button you will see a new page. This page will have all the stories in a list mode and at the top you will see a message that gives you the option to subscribe to the feed.

Once you click “Subscribe now” a drop down will show up with the name, and the location to place the feed. I would just leave the “Bookmarks Toolbar Folder” which is the default. You can change the name of the feed. For example hear you can change it to “Shiny, Happy Tech news”. The point is you can re name it if you wish.
Now their will be a new option in your toolbar. It should say the name of the site unless you changed the name in the step before.

Now when you click the little drop down you can see all current stories on that site. This can save someone a lot of time when just wanting to read the newest entry and not have to load the entire site.

It will look a little bit different on a pc but the concept is still the same.

I’ve only set up an RSS feed in FireFox, and Safari Browsers. In Internet Explorer the location of the RSS button is in a little bit different place, but thats just because Microsoft doesn’t want to be like the other’s. I hope this helps teach some of you how to subscribe to a website. This can be used on many different websites.
