Revision3 Beta, Searching For The Next Internet Superstars

Revision3 has teamed up with Viddler for the launch of Revision3 Beta, where they will be searching for the next Internet Superstars. Do you have an online video show that you produce or host? Submit a promo (under 5 minutes long) to Revision3 and who knows, they might even decide to pickup your show and develop it as a series. Here’s more on Revision3 Beta from internet’s Martin Sargent and Sarah Lane.

Revision3 is on the prowl for the next generation of Internet television! As the landscape of new media becomes more and more crowded, it is becoming increasingly difficult for talented content producers and hosts to find audiences for their shows. Revision3 is striving to locate these content producers and expose these shows to its existing, vast fan base. We want to help exciting new shows succeed.

Guitar Hero: On Tour Custom Controller

Like many others, Eric Ruckman found that the DS controller add-on for Guitar Hero: On Tour left a bit to be desired but, unlike most folks, he didn’t just go back to playing on his console of choice — he actually went all out and pieced together a full-size rig out of a PS2 Guitar Hero controller. As you can see above, that includes a special housing for the DS itself (it’s still used for strumming), and even a built-in FM transmitter with its own screen, which lets him pump the audio through his home sound system. Check out the video below for more info.

Arrested: Failed to Return Library Books – Har!

A woman has been arrested for failing to return two books to the Grafton [Wisconsin] Library.

Heidi Dalibor was arrested after she failed to return the books, “Angels and Demons” and “White Oleander”, last year.

“I said, what could they possibly do? They can’t arrest me for this… I was wrong,” Dalibor said.

Dalibor did not respond to four notices from the library, two phone calls and two letters. The library forwarded the case to police, who issued a citation for Dalibor’s failure to return the materials or pay the fine. The citation included a court date, which Dalibor admits she ignored.

You know, this is one of those stories where I’m not on anybody’s side.. because EVERYBODY is *nuts*.

Intel slips new Core 2 Duo “S” processors out the door

Not exactly many surprises here, but it looks like Intel used its big Developer Forum this week to finally, and quietly, get official with its tiny new Core 2 Duo “S” processor, which is the stock version of the processor used in laptops like the MacBook Air and Voodoo Envy 133. The new 45nm processors boast same 1,066MHz system bus and 6MB of Level 2 cache as the newer Core 2 Duos, and will apparently be available in 1.6GHz and 1.86GHz versions to start with (dubbed the SL9300 and SL9400, respectively).

Ganzbot reads Twitter feeds aloud

We’ve seen methods for hooking house plants up with their own Twitter account, but there’s hardly anything more satisfying that building a robot to read back all those feeds you’re following. Ganzbot is a decidedly low-budget robot that relies on an Arduino Decima to control the head actions and a USB cable to receive up-to-date status information. Have a look at the innards as well as a few spoken words below.

ASUS kicks out four new XP-based Eee PCs for Taiwan

We know it’s been a tough few days since the last Eee PC launch, but ASUS has now thankfully come through with four more ever so slightly different models to feed your questionable appetite, this time for Taiwan. Those include the 1000HD XP, 904HD XP, 901 XP and 900 XP (16G), each of which, obviously, run XP, and at least two of which (the 901 and 900) come in some of the same eye-catching colors. Somewhat curiously, only the 901 XP is listed as having an Atom processors, while the others are simply described as packing an “Intel Mobile” processor. Otherwise, you can expect the usual range of specs found on countless similar models, with prices coming in at the local equivalent of $444 to $539.
