Tiny Speck Announces Glitch, A Browser-Based Massively-Multiplayer Game
Gaming start up Tiny Speck, co-founded by Stewart Butterfield and Cal Henderson (both formerly from Flickr), has just announced their new browser-based, massively-multiplayer game Glitch, which will launch in the fall.
It’s called Glitch because in the far-distant and totally-perfect future, the world starts becoming less and less probable, things fall apart, the center cannot hold, and there occurs what comes to be called the “glitch” — a grave danger of disemprobablization.
Daniel Terdiman has posted two in-depth articles about Glitch on CNET:
- “In depth with Tiny Speck’s Glitch”
- “Watching the birth of Flickr co-founder’s gaming start-up”

GTA: Episodes from Liberty City coming to PC, PS3
Rockstar has announced that the GTA IV standalone expansion , Episodes from Liberty City, will be released for the PlayStation 3 and PC platforms.
The Episodes from Liberty City expansion, which was originally released late last year as an Xbox 360 exclusive, contains the Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned expansions to the full GTA IV but doesn’t require the original game to play.
“It’s been a long time coming, but we are proud to finally deliver Episodes From Liberty City for the PC and PlayStation 3,” said Rockstar’s Sam Houser. “We appreciate the patience of our PlayStation 3 and PC fans worldwide, and we look forward to putting the games in your hands this March.”
No UK price is announced for the game yet, but you’ll be able to pick up the PS3 version of the pack at retail for $40 USD or download the episodes individually for $20 USD each via the PlayStation Network. The PC version of the game will require Games For Windows LIVE.
The price does seem a bit steep considering the late release and the fact that the expansions aren’t exactly “a full game”, but that’s just my opinion. The PC version will include the usual video editor and 32-player multiplayer just like the full game, if that helps.

Pay what you want for World of Goo
2D Boy is celebrating the first birthday of World of Goo in two ways – firstly by announcing a new sale and secondly by announcing that an iPhone version of the game is on the way.
Firstly though; if you don’t know what World of Goo is then it’s a physics-based puzzler from small indie studio 2D Boy. It’s awesome. You should buy it, especially if you’re one of those evil people who pirated the game.

Left 4 Dead 2 demo coming next month
Valve has released a statement from the Tokyo Games Show, declaring that it hopes to have a demo of Left 4 Dead 2 available next month. No plans were officially announced regarding platforms, exclusivity or content – but the target date is October 27th.
While Valve hasn’t confirmed if the demo will be open to everyone or not, the suspicion is that the demo will only be made available to those who have already pre-ordered the game. Valve had previously announced such an idea and did the same with Left 4 Dead.
Either way though, the demo looks set to give fans a go with the game well ahead of the official November 17th release date.

The Top Five Best Games Based on Films
Well, except for the Hitman movie maybe. That’s actually kind of fun in a stupid don’t-have-to-concentrate kind of way, if you ask us.
The failings aren’t just one-way though; common opinion holds that nearly every game that’s ever been based on a movie has been poorly received too. From Sega’s Iron Man game last year to the irredeemably awful Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game, it seems that the world of films and games are just destined to never really mesh.
