I'm not happy with Nvidia at all, I cannot understand what all the hype is about?  I mean the 5970 is still the fastest card you can buy. It Uses less powe and runs cooler, it is still the best single card solution for gamers  and the Price of the GTX480 didn't help either, at a whopping $899au!!

You can compare Nvidia to American Muscle cars of the 60s and 70s, "Ok lets Shove a big block 460ci engine in, who cares about efficiency or fuel consumption,  let's just make it fast  and expensive". who  cares if it overheats, breaks down and no one can afford it.

Common,  you can get a 5870 now for $499 and uses half the power! and for $100 more than the GTX480 price, you can get a 5970 which kills the GTX480 performance, in every single way. I really felt I had a superior card in my hand with the 5970.

I really want to give Nvidia a chance but it seems like they don't know what to do anymore, why not triple the power consumption for the next gen cards? and quadruple the price?, and what's with those crazy temps? they say that they are meant to run at 100c, they are designed to handle it, OK then make a card to run at 400c normal operating temps, where do we draw the line?

Some people might argue that when the 5870 first came out, it was priced similar to the GTX480, but that was then, if Nvidia released their cards then I wouldn't complain. They are releasing their cards many months later, after Ati have dropped their prices. Things that would change my mind about the GTX480

1. $699au Retail Price (or for other countries at least match the 5870 Price)

2. Much lower power consumption ( I want to run Tri sli, you Nvidia dumbasses)

3. Better Temperatures ( I don't need my Internal temps hitting 100c)

A lot of you guys know I'm not a fan boy, it just seems like ATi have been doing their homework, and have come up with cards that perform very well. They gave us Eyefinity, which took the gaming world by storm!! Nvidia was quick to copy them and give us surround gaming, well done Nvidia. I am more than happy for people to change my mind about this, so I will be open minded to discussion.
